Main Character in South Beach
in the book South Beach the main character is Alexa, she is one of the popular girls in school . Her school is about to go on spring break , her friends left her behind & now she does not want to spend spring break by herself . Alexa like when everyone has their full attention on her , more like the concided ones . Alexa also has a boyfriend that is in the school football team , her boyfriend wanted to go with her on a trip for spring break . She ends up breaking up with him 3 days before spring break . Alexa decides to call one of her friends & tells her if she could go with them on spring break . Alexa is the type that does not like to be left alone when everyone is having fun without her . Throughout the story i think Alexa learns how to be herself , to not be like others . Alexa learns a lot during the spring break with her friend Holly . Holly was those girls who would be shy around everyone & not care what people say .

Alexa sounds like one of those people who inside is super insecure. Kind of like all those movies and books- for instance, Mean Girls, where Gretchen is really insecure even though she's cute and rich and smart, she really desires Regina's approval. In the end, it sounds like she figures out that being popular isn't as important as being true to yourself. That's a valuable lesson to learn.
